PSE gave me the confidence to be my truest self, to reach outside of my comfort zone, and do more than I ever expected out of myself. I prepared so well before I even thought of applying to Gallo by reaching out to PSE alumni who currently work for the company!
Read MoreI am currently in the graphic design program, where, with the way the coursework is structured, if I had been studying abroad it would be this semester, so I don’t have any of the studio classes that are most vigorous time-wise for me. I knew a lot of internships would be virtual, so I think it would have been a missed opportunity to not take one up with the time I had and use my skills on that professional level.
Read MoreAs busy as being in both Varsity Soccer and PSE is, they are both things I love, which is why I do it. PSE has always been so supportive of my schedule too, which helps. My client project teams were always understanding and I have everything planned out with them in my google calendar.

Read MoreThis summer, I worked for Bell Flight in Fort Worth, TX as a human resources intern. I had the chance to meet Bell recruiters at PSE’s post career fair event last fall and I ended up getting an interview after our conversation.
Read MoreNothing about them is out of place. Their wigs secured to their head, dresses glistening with gemstones, and their bodies were glowing with tans. The older man next to me with the microphone leaned over, and with his thick Irish accent he inquired, “Ehm, how do ye pronounce this here,” pointing to my last name, Nowakowski.
Read MoreMy involvement as a general member has allowed me to meet some really cool people while learning the ins and outs of planning an event on campus. MAP has taught me some skills that you can’t learn in a classroom. Skills like running a cotton candy machine, and how to order 200 stickers shaped like a dog bone.
Read MoreGamma Gamma went on its annual service on October 18, 2019 - October 20, 2019. A team of 20 PSE members spent the weekend at a cabin in Hocking Hills State Park in Ohio. The chapter partnered with Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit housing organization that builds homes for the underprivileged. Members helped the organization with some of the landscaping that needed to be done at their site. The group also worked with Club Sandwich to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to be donated to an outreach center in Hamilton, Ohio. This is the second time the chapter has done a service retreat and partnered with Habitat for Humanity.

It was the home-like vibe, John Mayer on the radio, the smell of food upstairs, and most of all the people. Beth could tell I was SUPER interested before I even knew. She called me over to meet Joey, and without hesitation, began hyping me up.
Read MoreI feel that from being asked difficult questions about how the changes that I plan to enact will affect the Miami community and vice versa, I have advanced my skills to speak publicly and have productive discussions. Often times when writing and proposing bills, the first steps take place in committee meetings. These committees are anywhere from four to about 12 people. Collectively, working together as a group, resolutions to issues arise quickly and the best content is captured.
