Spring 2023: Recruitment Season Recap

Spring 2023: Recruitment Season Recap

By Grace Hogshead

Recruitment season is one of the highlights of every semester, and the Spring of 2023 was certainly no exception. After over a month of fun and exciting recruitment events, the Gamma Gamma Chapter is happy to welcome 30 outstanding new members home.

The recruitment season consists of Meet the B-Orgs, Meet the B-Frats, Info Nights, a Diversity (DEI) Workshop, a Professional Development Workshop, First Round Interviews, Meet the Chapter, Second Round Interviews, and, the most fun of all, Bid Day.

Noah Klimek, the Director of Recruitment for PSE, is tasked with organizing all things recruitment – planning events, communicating with potential new members (PNMs), creating interview questions, and overseeing his committee.

Alongside him, the recruitment committee works hard to ensure the success of the recruitment season. The recruitment committee, composed of Chiara Archer, Meredith Vontroba, Grace Tarler, Dylan Forche, Connor Andrews, Carolyn Grube, Jaiden Knecht, Tim Rence, and Emma Latherow, assists Noah with anything he needs during the recruitment process.

Chiara Archer, a member of the committee, speaks of her love for recruitment, “I have been on the recruitment team for three semesters now. I was inspired to join it by Trevor Minyo, my team lead for my new member project. He encouraged me to apply for the committee, and I have loved it ever since. The committee allows you to get to know the PNMs throughout the whole process and foresee their place within the chapter. Recruitment is always exciting – I love planning the events, sending emails, having a recruitment buddy, and so much more!”

Just as PSE is excited to welcome new members, the new members cannot wait to be integrated into the chapter. Annabelle Frijlink, a new member in the Spring 2023 Pledge Class, says about her recruitment experience, “Everyone was so welcoming and excited to hear about me. Every interaction felt like a conversation rather than an interrogation, even in the professional interviews. I felt comfortable talking to people right away because I had the opportunity to meet so many members at Meet the Chapter!”

Currently, new members are starting their new member projects and are already diving head-first into the chapter. We cannot wait to see what they accomplish as new members of PSE!
