GenZcruiting: How PSE Inspires Innovation

By Grace Hogshead

The Gamma Gamma Chapter of Pi Sigma Epsilon is composed of many talented individuals with a variety of unique interests. Sophomore PSE members, best friends, and roommates Joshua Schreiber and Samuel Adler are two such individuals. Josh, an Organizational Leadership and Entrepreneurship student, and Sam, a Human Capital Management/Leadership and Entrepreneurship student, share a love for creating and innovating with a people-centered approach.

Together, they started GenZcruiting, a talent marketing agency empowering companies with student talent for internships and entry-level jobs. They assist startups and midsize businesses in assessing their hiring strategy, provide these businesses with access to their student database, and provide full-cycle hiring services for a fraction of the price compared to typical recruiting agencies.

When asked how they came up with the idea for GenZcruiting, Josh said, “After ⅖ of my internships were unpaid, I began to understand the importance of paid professional experience, especially for students who have to support themselves financially. Knowing how this demographic largely impacts low-income students and students of color, it’s crucial that companies pay fair compensation for their young talent. On the other hand, I saw that smaller and midsize companies couldn’t afford comprehensive university recruiting services, so we decided to bring those services to them.” After Josh and Sam discussed some of these issues in the internship and early career space, they decided they could develop a solution and got to work right away.

Josh and Sam work well together. According to Sam, “We both have different leadership styles, which I believe is a significant strength.” While Josh likes to work holistically on their website, outreach, partnerships, and sales funnel, Sam has excellent skills when it comes to detail and operations. However, they both agree that leadership is about bringing out the best in others, and they strive to bring this philosophy to GenZcruiting for clients and students alike.

Josh and Sam have both had a variety of leadership and entrepreneurial experiences that have provided them with the skills to create a successful company. In particular, they share that PSE has played a vital role in the development of GenZcruiting. Through working on projects, attending the Pro-Am Sales Competition, and learning from members of diverse backgrounds, they have gained many skills as members of Gamma Gamma. Additionally, having access to exclusive networking events with recruiters such as post-career fair, an extensive alumni network, and talented current members of PSE has provided Josh and Sam with opportunities to recruit more quality clients and students for GenZcruiting.

Josh and Sam are just getting started, and they would love to have more PSE members in the database to share with recruiters. All majors are welcome to apply, and the application takes 5 minutes or less. Visit www.genzcruiting.com/apply-now to apply today!
